Busy Street
We’d like to share a story of how God is moving. One night we were about to return home when we ran into a family of 5 on a busy street. We were able to share with them about Jesus for around 2 hours. They showed great interest and shared how a friend they have had recently become a Christian, changed his life and proclaimed that Jesus is God. That person gave them a number to call while they were in Istanbul of a man named Mehran who could tell them more about Jesus. The mother took out her phone and showed us the number; Mehran’s phone number. They had not planned to call us but God was calling them to himself. They decided to follow Jesus at that moment and prayed with us. This overwhelming show of God’s work shocked both us and them and led us to praise Him. This family has returned to Iran and begun a home church through our web ministry. Praise God! As our conversation continued, I shared the Gospel and explained God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. After hearing the message and asking several questions, both he and his wife decided to invite Jesus Christ into their lives. Although they made this decision, they still carried many doubts and uncertainties about their new faith. After returning to Iran, he joined our discipleship program. Week by week and step by step, his faith began to grow stronger. Through studying God’s Word, prayer, and ongoing discipleship, he developed a deeper relationship with Christ and gained confidence in his faith. Today, the same man who once listened with skepticism and uncertainty has become a disciple-maker filled with faith, hope, and a passion for sharing Christ with others. Every year, he and his family travel to Istanbul to participate in our evangelistic outreach projects and serve alongside our team. God is also using this family powerfully in Iran. They have become a witness for Christ among their relatives and friends, openly sharing the message of Jesus and encouraging others to explore faith. In addition, he dedicates much of his time to helping people who struggle with addiction. As he supports them in their journey toward recovery, he also takes every opportunity to share the hope and healing found in the Gospel. Their oldest daughter, who is now 17 years old, has also chosen to follow Jesus Christ. What began as a brief conversation on a busy street in Istanbul has grown into a continuing story of transformation, discipleship, and multiplication. Through one changed life, God is now touching many others, and this story continues to unfold for His glory.
